Boil beets for 10 mins and let it simmer for 15 mins. Rinse beets in cold water and peel off the skin. Chop into cubes and fill 3/4th of a jar of your choice. For a 6 oz jar, add 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp raw honey and apple cider vinegar. Close the lid and shake well. Store in the refrigerator. Enjoy your pickled beets with salad, hot dogs, quinoa or rice. Think chutney or kimchi!
Turmeric is effective in treating heart disease, cancer, arthritis, inflammation and depression. Turmeric Tonic: In a cup of water mix a tsp of raw honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice, 1 tsp turmeric powder and ¼ tsp of cayenne pepper powder. Mix well and enjoy. You can also mix it with you favorite tea or fruit juice.
1. Drink warm water with lemon first thing in the morning. 2. Scrape your tongue twice a day; removes toxins. 3. Meditate 5 minutes a day. 4. Take a walk after every meal. 5. Have a daily cup of tea. 6. End your day with basic yoga/ stretching. 7. Use more spices and less salt in cooking. 8. Substitute sugar with maple syrup. 9. Add Chia and Flax to your food. 10. Snack often but keep it healthy. You may not have much time for yourself but these small changes can make big differences. Try them out.
