Migraines are pulsating headaches oft preceded by warning symptoms known as aura. While the most common auras are visual, such as flickering lights, lines or spots, other signs that may signal the onset of a migraine include numbness or a pins-and-needles sensation on one side of the body, stuffy nose, watery eyes, frequent yawning, and/or sudden mood swings.
Drink ginger tea or chew a piece of ginger at the onset of a migraine. Fish oil too can help with its anti-inflammatory benefits. The most common triggers are foods or drinks like cheese, soy, and alcohol, stress, lack of sleep, dehydration, weather change, and hormonal change during periods.
