Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring compounds found in a large number of plant foods. Their chemical structure is similar to that of the human sex hormone estrogen and are associated with numerous health benefits. There is yet no concrete evidence on whether phytoestrogens cause hormonal imbalance or infertility in men. Hence it is recommended to consult with your dietitian or doctor before adding or completely excluding phytoestrogens from your diet.
Follow simple dietary tweaks like consuming ginger tea in morning; parched rice+300ml milk+a dash of nutmeg powder (for males)/cardamom powder (for females)+sugar candy to taste for your breakfast/dinner; turmeric saffron milk at bedtime. Try herbs like gokshura, kum kuma, varahikand. Practice yoga and avoid or reduce alcohol, tobacco, or too much of caffeine.

Ayurveda recommends ashwagandha as an aphrodisiac and as a tonic for overall health. Studies prove that it increases sperm quality, count, and motility and improves the biochemical composition of semen. It raises testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels and reduces follicle-stimulating hormone and prolactin. Ashwagandha also fights oxidative damage, counters stress, and reverses the effect of smoking on sperms. Have 1–2 tsps root extract twice daily for best benefits.
Alkylphenols used in most sunscreens have been linked to idiopathic male infertility. UV filters may cause calcium ion influx into sperms causing vitiated sperm motility. Parabens interfere with estrogen, precluding the normal development of testes. Instead use paraben and fragrance-free organic sunblocks. Also, exploit the remarkable de-tanning effects of natural black tea.
Sperm count, motility, and structure are adversely affected by advancing age, obesity, high-cholesterol diets, smoking, alcoholism, stress, pollutants, drugs, testicular injuries, and STDs. Eat antioxidant-rich foods, limit your alcohol intake to 2 drinks a day, exercise regularly, and wear comfy innerwear. Ginseng botanical extract, and marjoram and sage essential oils naturally improve sperm quality.

Infertility is the inability to conceive a child within one year. A diagnosis of infertility simply means that becoming pregnant may be a challenge rather than a feeling of hopelessness. Most men with fertility problems have no signs or symptoms and in women, it may be signaled by irregular menstrual periods or other medical conditions.
