1. Soothing Salve For Headaches
If you have to deal with
Virgin coconut oil
10 drops each of lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus essential oils
A glass container with a lid
Heat a pan of water until it is hot then turn off the heat.
Put 1/4 cup of coconut oil in a small bowl and place it in the pan.
Wait until the oil has melted.
Add the essential oils into the bowl and mix it well.
Pour the mixture into a glass container and allow it to cool to room temperature.
Put it in the fridge and store it.
Use this salve on your temples whenever you have a headache.
2. Oil Rub
Twisting your ankles or wrists can be very painful. The swelling and bruising caused by it can make it very difficult for you to move around and to perform your daily activities. Since it takes quite a bit of time to heal, using essential oils can reduce inflammation and speed up healing. Lavender and peppermint essential oils are very effective in providing you with much-needed relief from the pain.
Virgin olive oil
10 drops each of lavender and peppermint essential oils
Heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil over low heat.
Once the oil is warm, add the essential oils.
Mix them well and rub it into the sprain while it is still warm.
Repeat the procedure as and when needed.
3. Balm For Sore Muscles
If you perform rigorous activities like hitting the gym or swimming, then you may be left with sore muscles the next day. Although there is no way to get rid sore muscles instantly, you can use essential oils to increase circulation and to reduce inflammation to help you feel better. You can use a mixture of a variety of essential oils like cinnamon, peppermint, camphor, rosemary, eucalyptus, ginger, lavender, and black peppermint. Cinnamon has prostaglandin-inhibiting properties that can help relieve pain. Camphor acts as a mild anesthetic and is easily absorbed into the skin. Rosemary reduces muscle pain associated with arthritis. Ginger essential oil reduces muscle pain by increasing blood circulation.
8 ounces of sweet almond oil
1 ounce of beeswax
5 drops each of rosemary, ginger, eucalyptus, camphor, peppermint, and cinnamon essential oils
2 drops each of black peppermint and lavender essential oils
Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax and almond oil together.
Add in all the essential oils and pour it into small glass jars with lids.
Allow the mixture to cool.
