It also has antispasmodic properties that can help you cope with period pains. Take a few drops of ylang-ylang essential oil and massage it onto your pelvic area for a few minutes. You can do it twice a day to help stimulate blood flow in your pelvic region.
Emmenagogues do not always work immediately. You might have to consume them for a few days before you start your periods. They can be dangerous if you consume them when you are pregnant as they can cause induce abortions in high doses. Exercise caution and do not consume emmenagogues if you want a healthy pregnancy.
